Biwako Flower Fountain

The Hana Fountain is one of the world’s longest, spewing water up to 40 meters high, equivalent to a 10-story building, against the backdrop of beautiful Lake Biwa.

Located on a breakwater off the Port of Otsu, the gateway to Lake Biwa tourism, it is one of the world’s largest fountains at approximately 440 meters in length. It spouts water up to 40 meters high while changing its shape into various forms such as a radiant fountain and a straight-up fountain.

The fountain creates a cool landscape during the daytime, and at night it is illuminated in green, orange, and clear, creating a fantastic scene. It is also a popular date spot and one of Lake Biwa’s tourist attractions.

The fountain only goes up at limited hours, so please check the opening hours on the Shiga Prefecture website before visiting.
