La Collina Omihachiman

This is the flagship store of the long-established Japanese confectionery store “Taneya” and the western confectionery store “Club Harrier” which is famous for its baumkuchen.

The vast grounds of approximately 35,000 tsubo (approximately 1.5 acres), surrounded by beautiful natural surroundings and covered in greenery, give the building an atmosphere that looks like something out of a fairy tale.

Arc-shaped corridors and walking paths allow visitors to enjoy the lush greenery as they stroll through the building. The architectural design is by architectural historian Terunobu Fujimori, and its original air is like a theme park with a fun atmosphere.

The main store is centered around a beautiful grass-roofed building, with the Club Harrier store on the right and the Taneya store on the left.

In addition, there is a spectacular space with the new “Balm Factory,” a sponge cake store and cafe, a gift store, and a food court.

There are many elements for both adults and children to enjoy, such as baumkuchen being baked by artisans right in front of you.

At the gift store, visitors can purchase a variety of souvenirs from Club Harrier’s sweets in a cute garage with a bus as its symbol.

At the Baum Factory, visitors can observe the process of making Club Harrier’s baumkuchen.

Not only can visitors taste new delicacies that cross the boundaries between Japanese and Western cuisines, but they also make great souvenirs.

However, since it is expected to be crowded on holidays, we recommend that you visit early.

At the food court, visitors can enjoy rice croquettes, light meals, and a Japanese sweets menu. In the café, only drinks can be ordered as soon as the freshly baked baumkuchen are gone.

The bread store will open around 10:30 a.m. when the bread arrives. Please note that the store may close earlier than the scheduled time depending on conditions.
